"Banding Together" Campaign

NAGA encourages ALL sports teams to recognize Native American Heritage Month. Several colleges already do this via their participation in the Nike N7 program, whereby their basketball teams wear turquoise jerseys during November in recognition of Native American Heritage Month. The NAGA "Banding Together for Native American Education" campaign takes this a step further by encouraging all public schools, colleges, and professional sports teams to wear a special Native-design wristband during Native American Heritage Month. Our program calls for each team to sell the wrist bands ($10) to their individual fan bases and donate the proceeds to support Native American education initiatives. NAGA further encourages teams to invite local tribes to showcase their culture at a designated game during Native American Heritage Month.
